I stood on a corner that was dark and damp
Casting my shadow neath the dim street lamp
Hiding my face from the headlight beams
Thinking my thoughts and dreaming my dream Hours on end it was as quite as a tomb
Making my way to the door of my room
I heard whispers n the alley twas the strangest sight
The shadow started moving in the dead of the night Then the beat of a drum midst the horn of a car
And a man on the curb with a cool guitar
He touched the strings and the sound I heard
Was an angel in flight the song of a bird The notes put rhythm in my heart and feet
I danced in freedom on the lamp lit street
I laughed and cried and played in fun
Then was stopped in my tracks by the rising sun I went to my room a very tired man
Waiting for the notes to call me again
Everything I do every tiny little deed
Is waiting for the night and the music I need The beat of the drum and the horn of the car
Calls me to the street and the cool guitar
He touched the string and the sound he made
Was like the dew of the morning and the evening shade I stood on the corner that was dark and damp
Casting my shadow neath the dim street lamp
It’s all kinda strange but they came from afar
To see the man on the curb and his cool guitar The morning came again the man wasn’t there
I sat for hours with a dull cold stare
Wrapped in my thoughts kinda lost it seems
For the man on the curb was a man in my dreams A dream is just a dream til you make it real
Gotta give what ya know gotta give what you feel
Leave the dark street ya gotta reach for a star
Be the man on the stage with the cool guitar Soar to the stars in the musics strain
Fill the air with the notes let them fall like rain
Let the power of the talent travel near and far
Be the man on the stage with the cool guitar2011. Loda Schreckhise
